The box contains two self-propelled tanks with quick assembly, Italeri 1:72 scale The Semovente M40 75/18, designed by Fiat Ansaldo, was used by the Royal Army from the end of 1941 in North Africa and was used for the entire duration of the Second World War. Although it was developed on the chassis, by then antiquated, of the M13/40 tank, it was the only Italian armored vehicle, produced in large numbers, to constitute a serious threat to Allied vehicles. Its 75mm gun, in a casemate, had good firepower and was effective even with the most modern Allied tanks such as the Sherman. The good gun was unable to make up for the too light armor and the not very powerful and reliable engine derived directly from the M13/40 tank. The Semovente was used, in particular, by the Ariete and Littorio Armored Divisions in North Africa, but also, in the following years, by the departments of the Social Republic. Thanks to its 12-cylinder, 500 HP Diesel engine, it was able to reach a maximum speed of 55 km/h. It is considered by many historians, for operational efficiency, the best tank of the Second World War.
