Tamiya 1:20 scale assembly kit of the legendary 1978 Lotus Type 79 in limited edition, item 20060. In 1977, Lotus introduced a ground effect car, the Type 78, which had a thin monocoque chassis with underside surfaces like inverted aircraft wings. The sixth race of the 1978 season, the Belgian Grand Prix saw the introduction of the further evolved Type 79. The fuel tanks were placed behind the cockpit and the rear suspension was equipped with effective shock absorbers. Mario Andretti was partnered by Ronnie Peterson that year, and the former drove the car to an impressive pole-to-finish debut victory. Further successes followed, with Andretti taking five wins to claim the drivers’ championship and Peterson adding another win to help the team secure the constructors’ title. The Type 79 was a major influence on subsequent Formula 1 cars, and its blistering speed, design and spectacular livery earned it the nickname “Black Beauty”.

Tamiya 20072 Toyota Celica LB Turbo Gr.5 1/20 SCALE. Aero Wonder The Toyota Celica LB Turbo was a Group 5 car developed for the 1977 DRM (German Racing Championship). Based on the Celica Liftback 2000GT road car, the car featured aerodynamic components such as bulging fenders and a rear wing, and used numerous FRP body panels, which helped keep its weight to just 860 kg. An extensively modified body by Schnitzer and a 2,090 cc, 560 hp, DOHC inline-4 turbo engine were used. This car made its debut in July 1977, and in October of the same year it beat the Porsche 935 to take its first victory. Model Information This is a 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 240mm, Width: 105mm, Height: 61mm. The highly modified fastback shape is captured in style. A removable front cowl allows you to take a closer look at the detailed 560hp engine underneath. The roll cage is recreated inside. The solid synthetic rubber tires have different widths front and rear, both with a realistic finish. Cartograf decals are included, giving you the option to choose between cars No. 56 and No. 68. The kit comes with a driver figure. The box does not contain glue and paint. The Brabham BT46 is a British Formula 1 car that was introduced in the 1978 season and competed in F1 races this season and one Grand Prix of the 1979 season. Its designer was Gordon Murray. The Brabham BT46 was powered by a single Alfa Romeo 115-12 12-cylinder engine with a displacement of 3 liters and 525 hp. The Brabham BT46 was a far-reaching development of the previous Brabham car, the BT45. In the new model, Gordon Murray focused on improving driver safety, implementing numerous small technological innovations, as well as compensating for and reducing the high weight of the engine, which generated more maximum power than competing models, but also weighed more and consumed more fuel. Finally, a car was created that was difficult to drive, demanding on the driver, emergency, but also with excellent performance and capable of entering corners at high speed. We tried to eliminate the disadvantages of the BT46 model in the very similar BT46B, but it was unsuccessful. In total - BT46 and BT46B - took part in 15 races of the Grand Prix series - in one of them they won. The most famous pilots who drove the Brabham BT46 were: Niki Lauda and John Watson.
