230-ton sailing vessel, built for merchant use, assigned in 1787 to the Royal Navy for voyages of exploration and research. WASA (Royal Swedish Vessel)

The Wasa, a 64-gun Swedish royal vessel, sank in the Stockholm bay on the same day as her launch (August 10, 1628) due to a violent gust of wind. The hull, never sailed, inclined fearfully and the water poured inside through the open hatches. The vessel slowly descended to a depth of 35m. The ship's construction had begun in 1625, under the direction of the Dutch architect Henrik Hybertsson. Although some guns and a few other objects had already been recovered previously, it was only in 1956 that it was possible to bring the hull back to the surface. In 1958, partially rebuilt and restored, it was placed in the homonymous Wasa museum in Stockholm.

GREEK BIREME Amati wooden assembly kit AM 1404 1:35 scale model Employed in the Western Mediterranean between the 8th-7th centuries BC, it was a fast and manoeuvrable battleship, with a crew of 44 oarsmen, placed diagonally from the ship. Mainly the fleets were used for the transport of goods, being long and narrow while the faster fleets were used for military purposes. An interesting discovery was that, during battles and boardings, the prow was used to ram enemy ships. In the assembly box there are all the well-finished accessories, quality timber while the construction plans are detailed and in multilingual. Definitely a well-maintained naval model of medium difficulty for the model maker who is passionate about this type of vessel.
