The Wasa, a 64-gun Swedish royal vessel, sank in the Stockholm bay on the same day as her launch (August 10, 1628) due to a violent gust of wind. The hull, never sailed, inclined fearfully and the water poured inside through the open hatches. The vessel slowly descended to a depth of 35m. The ship's construction had begun in 1625, under the direction of the Dutch architect Henrik Hybertsson. GREEK BIREME Amati wooden assembly kit AM 1404 1:35 scale model Employed in the Western Mediterranean between the 8th-7th centuries BC, it was a fast and manoeuvrable battleship, with a crew of 44 oarsmen, placed diagonally from the ship. Mainly the fleets were used for the transport of goods, being long and narrow while the faster fleets were used for military purposes. An interesting discovery was that, during battles and boardings, the prow was used to ram enemy ships. French frigate of the mid-eighteenth century French frigate with 30 guns, which went down in history thanks to its designer, the famous naval architect Fredrik Chapman.
