The BMW i8 is a German sports car, presented to the public for the first time (again as a concept car) in 2009 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Serial production of this model started in 2014 and is still ongoing. It is concentrated at the BMW AG plants in Germany, in the city of Leipzig. The BMW i8 is a true avant-garde car on many levels. First, it uses a hybrid system of petrol and electric motors with a total output of 362 HP as the drive train, which reduces fuel consumption to 2.1 liters per 100 kilometers! The car is also characterized by a well-balanced center of gravity, very good aerodynamic properties and a body style suitable for this. Carbon fiber reinforced plastic was used on a large scale in the creation of the body. The BMW i8 can accelerate to 250 km/h and from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds.
