DRAGON

Soviet Su-85M Tank Destroyer Manufactured by Dragon 9152

The SU-85 is a Soviet self-propelled gun (tank destroyer) from World War II and the early years of the Cold War. The first prototypes of this vehicle were built in 1943, and series production lasted from 1943 to 1944. About 2050 vehicles of this type were created in its course. The combat weight of this SPG in the basic version was up to 29.6 tons. The drive was provided by a single W-2-34 diesel engine with an output of up to 500 HP. The vehicle's armament consisted of an 85 mm D-5T cannon. Two 7.62 mm PPS machine guns were usually carried inside the vehicle. The SU-85 self-propelled gun was developed on the basis of the SU-122, which itself was structurally based on the T-34 medium tank. From the outset, the new self-propelled gun was designed primarily as a tank destroyer capable of engaging German Pz.Kpfw V and VI. Compared to the SU-122, the new Soviet self-propelled gun also received new weapons - the 85mm cannon. SU-85 vehicles first entered service in late summer 1943 and served on the Eastern Front until the end of World War II. They proved to be structurally successful vehicles, but their armament was inadequate to counter the Panther and Tiger tanks. Then, in the course of World War II, the SU-100 was brought into service. However, shortly after its completion, most of the SU-85 was withdrawn from the Soviet Army and was exported to socialist countries.

T-34/85 Soviet WWII tank, the box contains decals for 4 versions, figures not included, including numerous details of the interior of the tank, contains a decal sheet for 4 versions, 1:35 scale code 6545 Italeri Description 100% New Molds - Glueable rubber tracks, alternatively links by links - Highly detailed interiors and engine - Photo-etched - 2 iron cables The T-34 tank is certainly one of the most famous armored vehicles of the Second World War and represented the thorn backbone of the Soviet Armed Forces during the conflict. The main innovations introduced by the T-34 were the inclined front armor capable of guaranteeing greater protection against hits received and the adoption of wide tracks ideal for obtaining good mobility on all types of terrain. The first T-34s, armed with a short-barreled 76 mm cannon, immediately acquired an operational advantage against the most popular German tanks of the time such as the Panzer III and Panzer IV. In 1943 the T-34 was further improved with the adoption of a completely new turret, with thicker armour, capable of housing the long-barreled 85 mm cannon. With the distribution of the first T-34/85s to the armored departments, the Soviet armies could face even the most modern and effective German tanks such as the Tiger and the Panther on equal terms.
